Hello, I'm Tony Zheng, a Senior/Lead Data Analyst at a major bank with a passion for chess.

I began my chess journey at age 13. During high school, I won the 2014 City of Sydney U18 Championship, and continued my involvement with chess at university, serving as both Secretary and President of the UNSW Chess Club. My recent competitive achievements include winning the 2025 John Purdy Memorial, the 2024 NSW Rapid Championship, and the 2024 Norths Allegro.

I focus on developing understanding, logical thinking, and incisive thought processes rather than just memorization. My goal is to help students learn why moves work, so they can replicate past success and learn effectively from their mistakes.
